Saturday, June 25th 2011, was an amazing day filled with a boat tour around Odaiba, a squash buckling lunch at a pirate themed restaurant, and a slice of disappointment at not being able to rent a puppy for an hour. Yes, I said rent a puppy for an hour, but if you were here without a feline or canine companion, you’d pay, and we would have if the shop where you rent the puppies wasn’t closed down.(sad day L ) To ease our troubled minds Amanda, Kohei, and I, gorged ourselves a “The Pirate King” restaurant, where we engaged in pirate talk for a few hours. It was a great day until we reached the platform for the Chou Line Rapid bound for Nakano station. On the screen in English our party found that the train we needed to catch was closed due to “Passenger Injury”. Normally, I would say to myself, “well, that’s inconvenient. Hope the passenger is alright.” But a few seconds later the train conductor explained the situation in fuller detail. Kohei translated and, said that someone had jumped. That’s when it hit me that June 25th 2011 was someone’s last day on earth, and that that person chose June 25th to be their last day. When it all sank in, I felt like I had failed that person and God because if I had reached that person with the gospel, or if I had at least been able to explain to them that there is hope in this material and superficial world that we live in, then maybe that train would have been running on time that day. I am ashamed that the first words I thought were of inconvenience rather than of morning for the soul that could be damned for eternity. BTW, I was bitten by a spider on Monday, June 20th, it hurt and was pusy and swollen for a couple of days, but God provided. I had planned on going to the clinic near my home this week if it didn’t get any better, but on Sunday, my pastor’s wife, who is a doctor, noticed that my arms and hands were cold. She asked if I had anemia, and I told her I wasn’t sure, so she offered to give me a blood test that day. So, I said that would be great and could she look at my spider bite, and she did! So she tested my blood, pumped some vitamin C into my system and then gave me some ointment for my spider bite, all for free!! Praise God!!!
